Magdalena Abrego (she/her) is a Manager with the Institutional Giving Team, working to support nonprofit clients in pursuing and managing government, foundation, and corporate funds. She specializes in grant writing, relationship management, and strategic planning. Magdalena's professional background in arts and culture makes her abundantly equipped to assist organizations across a broad range of creative industries. Whether she is advising from afar as a board member or running around town as an organization’s boots-on-the-ground, she is most drawn to supporting mission-driven work that creates meaningful change in our local communities.
Prior to Advance NYC, Magdalena spent much of her career working in higher education at leading music institutions such as Berklee College of Music, the New England Conservatory, and Longy School of Music. She is also a former board member of the New England Foundation for the Arts, serving on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Working Group and Marketing and Communications Committee. Magdalena holds a certificate in Arts and Culture Organization Management from Harvard Business School, an M.M. from the New England Conservatory, and a B.M. from Berklee College of Music. Outside of work, you’ll usually find Magdalena playing guitar, watching horror movies, or drinking coffee.
