Yasmine Falk
Yasmine Falk (she/her) has worked to build capacity at mission-driven organizations across New York for almost two decades. She began her career in fundraising at the acclaimed Public Theater, gaining a ground-up understanding of the processes and structures that allow organizations to realize their missions effectively long-term. During her tenure within the development department, Yasmine oversaw the implementation of strong systems and the creation of innovative giving programs that resulted in the doubling of individual giving revenue from $2M to $4M in only two years. She later served as the Director of Development for The Film Society of Lincoln Center, a constituent organization of one of the world’s foremost performing arts institutions, where she forged new, multi-year relationships with Fortune 500s to bring corporate giving to over $1M annually; established a major gifts program; and launched and successfully closed a $40 million capital campaign to establish the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center, a new home for film on the Lincoln Center campus.
Since co-founding Advance NYC in 2011, Yasmine has directly provided strategic vision and fundraising support for dozens of leading nonprofits while offering top-line support and expert strategy to all of Advance NYC’s teams. Yasmine founded Advance NYC to bring her two decades of experience to a wider range of mission-based organizations, helping them navigate the competitive non-profit landscape and serve the needs of their unique communities. While leading Advance, Yasmine has:
Conceived and implemented a year-long celebration for Roundabout Theater Company’s 50th Anniversary, including production of an award-winning film about the company’s history that aired on NBC. The celebration was designed to complement and support a successful $50M fundraising campaign.
Led the design and execution of new corporate engagement programs and processes, including membership, philanthropy and sponsorship, at the American Museum of Natural History, resulting in $4M in new and incremental revenue within a single year.
Partnered with Weeksville Heritage Center to quadruple the organization’s projected individual giving revenue, double its projected foundation giving, and establish a cash reserve.
Brought Advance’s innovative approach for rapid capacity-building to dozens of NYC organizations during 2020-2021 via a partnership with The Howard Gilman Foundation to address the emergency needs of their most vulnerable grantees during the pandemic.
Prior to discovering her passion for nonprofit management, Yasmine studied classical voice at New York University. The oldest of eight and mother of two, Yasmine is also frequently found honing her skills as an amateur chef.
